UPSEE 2014 has been conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow on April 20, 2014. The online test for UPSEE 2014 would be conducted on April 27, 2014. UPSEE 2014 is conducted for admissions to Government-aided and Private Unaided institutions affiliated to UPTU, and also some other State Universities of Uttar Pradesh. UPSEE 2014 would be conducted for the session 2014–15.

The following is a detailed analysis of UPSEE 2014:

  • It is conducted for eight (8) papers
  • The questions are of objective type
  • Every correct answer has four marks
  • Multiple answers would be considered a  wrong answer
  • There is no negative marking, i.e. no marks are cut for wrong answers
  • A separate merit list for each course is prepared
  • In case two students have equal marks, the student who gave lesser number of incorrect responses would be given a higher merit
  • The cut-off percentage of UPSEE 2014 is 25% for general candidates and 20% for SC/ST candidates
  • A weightage of 3% is given to candidates from rural areas

The results of UPSEE 2014 would be declared on or before May 20, 2014. The merit position and a score card with total marks and score of each paper would be published on the official website.

  • Because cutoff is 25%, students should prepare their subjects in such a way that at least 25% of questions in their favourite subject are correct
  • Because there is no negative marking, maximum number of questions must be attempted
  • Because it is an objective type test, the strategy should be that of eliminating the options rather than choosing the correct option
  • It means that the strategy for attempting questions should be as follows:
    • If you are sure of the answer out of four options, mark it immediately
    • If you have eliminated one option as definitely wrong, attempt the question by eliminating more options
    • If you have eliminated two options, make an intelligent guess out of the two options
    • If you are familiar with only one option, make an intelligent guess, if possible, otherwise it’s better to leave the question unanswered
    • If you don’t have any idea about any of the options, it’s better to leave the question unattempted
