CDS 1 2017CDS 1 2017: The result of CDS 1 has been declared by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on March 20, 2017. The CDS 1 2017 result of the written exam has been made available online on the official website of UPSC. 8548 candidates have been selected for the interview on the basis of the performance in the written exam. The result of CDS I 2017 has been declared for all the candidates who have appeared in the written exam held on February 5, 2017, however, the candidates who have secured the overall qualifying marks has been selected for the five-days SSB tests/interview. The candidates who have been shortlisted for the interview are required to submit the original certificates in support of age (Date of Birth), educational qualifications, NCC (C) (Army Wing/Senior Division Air Wing/Naval Wing) etc. along with attested copies thereof, to Army Headquarters. All the candidates who have been shortlisted for the interview are required to register themselves online on the Indian Army Recruiting website within two weeks of the announcement of written result.

Candidates who complete the registration process on time will then be allotted Selection Centers and dates for SSB interview. The venue and date will be communicated to the candidates on their registered email id. In case, there has been any change of address, the qualified candidate should immediately inform the Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters as the case may be.The commission will publish the mark sheet of candidates who have not qualified the exam within 15 days of declaring the final result after conducting SSB interview. Candidates can get here complete details of CDS 1 2017 Exam Analysis, Result, Cutoff and CDS Answer key.

CDS 1 Answer Key 2017

The Answer Key of CDS 1 2017 has been released by Coaching Institutes after the completion of the exam. Candidates can download the CDS 1 Answer Key 2017 for all subjects – English, General Knowledge, Mathematics. The candidates with the help of the answer key can calculate their marks based on the correct answers. Candidates can download here the CDS 1 Answer Key 2017 of all sets of test booklet. The Official Answer Key will be released by UPSC after the recruitment process is over.

CDS 1 Result 2017

UPSC has announced the result of CDS 1 2017 written exam on March 20, 2017. The result has been declared for only those candidates who have secured the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam. Candidates in accordance to the number of seats available has been called for the SSB Tests. Approximately, the commission has shortlisted more than 8000 candidates for the SSB tests. Candidates who have qualified the CDS 1 2017 written exam are called by Service Selection Board for psychological aptitude test, intelligence test and interview. Candidates will have to secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in the SSB tests to pass the test.

The Commission will prepare a merit list of all the qualified candidates based on the total marks in the interview and written exam. Candidates found medically fit will be inducted into the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, 150 144th (DE) Course commencing in January, 2018, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Course 45 commencing in January, 2018, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) 32 Training Course commencing in February, 2018, Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai, 107th SSC(Men) (NT) Course commencing in April, 2018 and Officers Training Academy, Chennai, 21st 11 SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course commencing in April, 2018.

CDS 1 Cut off 2017

Candidates to qualify the written exam of CDS will have to secure the cutoff score. The CDS 1 Cutoff will vary according to the respective academies. The Cutoff of the written test will be based on the aggregate marks secured by the last qualified candidates. However, the final cutoff will be based on the marks of last recommended candidate. The result of the written exam will be declared only for those candidates who will score the sectional and overall cutoff score. Candidates can check the CDS 1 Cutoff score of previous year.

CDS 1 Selection Process 2017

Written Exam: Candidates in the very first step in the selection procedure of CDS entry, appear for the written exam. The candidates opting for IMA, INA and AFA appear in the three subjects of written exam – Mathematics, English General Knowledge and candidates appearing for Officers Training Academy written exam give exam in two subjects – Elementary Mathematics and General Knowledge

Interview/ Intelligence Test/ Personality Test

The candidates who are selected in written test are called for SSB interview. The SSB procedure consists of two stage selection process-Stage I and Stage II. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for Stage II. The personality of candidate is assessed by three different assessors viz. the interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist.

  • Document Verification

Document Verification will be conducted only after the candidate has qualified the SSB interview.

  • Medical Examination

The medical examination of all the shortlisted candidate is done as the authority wants to check whether the candidate is medically fit or not. Candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers.  
A merit list of the candidates selected for Combined Defence Service is prepared after all the four steps above mentioned are followed

 CDS 1 Admit Card 2017

The Commission has issued e-admit card for the CDS 1 2017 exam. Candidates can download their Admit Card through the link provided here on this page. Candidates can either download the Admit Card through Registration No and Roll No. The Admit Card will be available for downloading until February 5, 2017. No CDS 1 Admit Card 2017 will be sent to the candidates by post. Separate Admit Card will be issued to the candidates for Interview/Personality Test.

CDS 1 Application Form 2017

UPSC has made the Application Form available for the candidates. The CDS 1 Application Form is available in two parts – part I and part 2. Interested candidates will have to apply online for the CDS I 2017 exam. No CDS I Application Form 2017 submitted via any other mode will be accepted by UPSC. Candidates can pay their Application Fees either through net banking or through Pay by Cash mode. The Application Fees of the exam is Rs. 200. The procedure to apply has been explained below:

  • The Apply link for CDS 1 exam has been hosted on this page.
  • The Application Form will be in two parts – Part 1 Registration and Part 2 Registration
  • In the Part 1, The candidates will have to enter their personal details like Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Email ID and Password etc for Part 1 registration.
  • In the Part 2: The candidates will have to pay their Application Fees and other details as and when asked.
  • After submitting the Application Form, the candidates should take a print out of the same.

CDS 1 Eligibility Criteria 2017

Candidates will have to fulfil the eligibility norms to be considered for the recruitment process. The admission of the candidates at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subjected to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

  • Nationality: The candidates should must be a Indian Citizen or a subject of any other country who has migrated to India with an intention to settle in India.
  • Age: The candidates should be in the age group of 20 to 24 years for IMA, INA, AFA courses. The age limit for Officers’ Training Academy is 25 years.
  • Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for the exam.
  • Educational Qualification: The educational qualification for different courses is different. Candidates with a degree from recognized university/institutions/degree in Engineering/ degree with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level can apply for the exam
  • Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (I) .

CDS 1 Exam Cities 2017

The CDS 1 exam will be conducted across 41 cities and towns throughout the country. Allotment of centres will be made on the first-apply-first-allot basis and once the capacity of a particular centre is attained the same will be frozen. Therefore, it is advised that the candidates should apply early so that they could get a centre of their choice.

CDS 1 Exam Pattern 2017

The scheme of examination will comprise of written examination and Interview and Personality test. The written examination will be held in offline mode comprising of – English, Elementary Mathematics, and General Knowledge. The total marks allotted for the written examination for admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy is 300 marks. The marks allotted to the written examination for admission to officers training academy is 200 marks. There will also be negative marking in the exam. Candidates who will qualify the written examination will be called for the Interview and Personality test. On the basis of the marks in written exam and interview/personality test candidates will be provided admission.
