CDSCDS 2018: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the result of CDS 1 2018 written exam on March 27. As per the CDS result 2018, a total of 8216 candidates have qualified to appear for SSB interview. The result has been declared in the form of a PDF file containing roll numbers of qualified candidates. The written exam of CDS 1 2018 was held in pen and paper mode in 41 cities/UTs across the country. UPSC had conducted CDS 2018 written exam on February 4. CDS answer key for all sets and subjects was released by coaching institutes like Baalnoi Academy and Cavalier. The Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam is conducted by UPSC to select eligible candidates for admission to Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Officers Training Academy (OTA) and Air Force Academy (AFA) as Gentleman Cadets. Upon completion of training, the candidates are appointed as Commissioned Officers in Army, Navy, Air Force and OTA as per their preference and merit. CDS 2018 recruitment process is a two stage process consisting of written exam and SSB Tests. The candidates who qualify CDS (I) 2018 written test will now appear for SSB tests. The application process of CDS 2018 that commenced on November 8, 2017 had closed on December 4, 2017. The CDS result 2018 is expected to be announced in May, 2018. CDS Eligibility Criteria 2018

UPSC decides on eligibility conditions for aspirants of CDS 2018 examination. Applicants have to ensure that they fulfil all the conditions fixed by UPSC before filling out the application form of CDS (I) 2018. Check the overview of CDS 2018 eligibility criteria as given in the table below.

CDS Application Form 2018

The application form of CDS (I) 2018 was made available from November 8, 2017 in online mode. Interested candidtes can fill CDS aplication form and submit their applications online. The applications submitted through any other mode are not accepted by UPSC. The CDS application form consists of two parts, part 1 registration and part 2 registration. In part 1 of CDS application form, candidates will have to fill basic details such as personal details, academic qualification details, verification of details and generation of registration ID. Part II of CDS 1 application form involves filling up payment details, selection of examination centre, uploading of photograph and signature and agreeing to the declaration. General and OBC applicants applying for CDS 2018 exam will have to pay Rs.200/- as application fees while submitting the application form. CDS Exam Centres 2018

The names of exam centres for the written exam of CDS 2018 have been released along with the official notification. Applicants will have to enter their choice for CDS exam centres while filling the online application form. UPSC reserves the right to allot exam centres other than the one opted by candidates. The CDS exam centres for the written examination will be allotted on first come first serve basis, therefore candidates need to apply early so that they can get a centre of their choice.

CDS Admit Card 2018

UPSC had issued the admit card of CDS 2018 written exam online on January 10, 2018. Candidates who had successfully submitted CDS application form 2018 were able to download CDS admit card 2018 by using roll number/ registration number and date of birth. As mentioned in the notification, UPSC did not send the hard copy of CDS I admit card by post. Candidates were required to carry the print out of CDS I admit card along with photo-identity proof to the examination centre on the day of exam. While UPSC issues CDS admit card 2018 for the written exam, the call letter for SSB tests is issued by respective SSB Headquarters. Candidates qualifying the written exam can download their call letter for SSB Test from the website of Indian Army, after registering themselves on the official website. CDS Exam Pattern 2018

The exam pattern for the written exam of CDS is decided and announced by UPSC in the official notification. The CDS 2018 exam pattern helps candidates understand complete details about marking scheme, number of questions, total marks, number of sections and time-duration of the written exam. As per the paper pattern, the written exam for admission to IMA , INA and AFA comprises of three sections – English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics whereas written exam for admission to OTA comprises two subjects – English and General Knowledge. The total marks allotted for CDS written exam for IMA , INA and AFA is 300 and OTA exam will be of total marks 200. Candidates are given 2 hours each to complete the exam of each subject. 0.33 marks are deducted as negative marking for wrong answers. Check the paper pattern of CDS 2018 as explained below.

CDS Answer Key 2018

The answer key of CDS 2018 written exam will be made available by UPSC on its official website. Private coaching institutes like Baalnoi Academy and Cavalier have released the unofficial CDS answer key. Candidates who appeared for CDS 1 written exam can download the answer key of CDS for all sets of question booklet. The CDS answer key 2018 contains correct answers of all questions of examination. The CDS answer key has been released for General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics and English. The answer key helps candidates check the answers marked by them in the exam. Based on the number of correct and incorrect answers, candidates can calculate their probable score.

CDS Result 2018

The result of UPSC CDS 2018 written exam has been announced by UPSC on March 27. CDS result has been declared online as a pdf file in two stages- written exam and final result. At the first stage, result of written exam is announced which is followed by declaration of final result after the SSB tests are over. Candidates need to secure qualifying marks in written exam as well as in SSB tests separately. The final result of CDS to select candidates for various courses will be declared based on the performance of candidates in written exam and SSB tests.

CDS Cutoff 2018

UPSC decides cutoff marks or the minimum qualifying marks for CDS exam. Candidates who appear for the exam need to secure marks according to CDS cutoff in each stage in order to be declared qualified for next round of selection process. Candidates securing qualifying marks in written examination will be selected for SSB tests. The CDS cutoff of written examination will be decided on the basis of the minimum aggregate marks secured by last qualified candidates in written examination. However, the final cutoff of CDS will be fixed based on the marks secured by last recommended candidates. CDS Selection Procedure 2018

The selection procedure of CDS 2018 consists of two stages - written exam and SSB tests along with fulfilling the required medical conditions in order to be shortlisted. SSB board will test the candidates on their intelligence, personality, compatibility and potential of prospective candidates for selection in Indian Army, Indian Navy and Air Force. SSB tests are conducted for a period of five days and comprise multiple stage testing. Candidates will be selected as Commissioned Officers in IMA, INA, AFA, OTA after completion of their training. The CDS 2018 merit list will be prepared in order of marks secured by candidates in written exam and SSB tests. Allocation of candidates will be done based on their preference and position in the merit list subjected to their fulfilling the medical fitness.
