Familarity with the exam process
Candidates should have clear idea of overall exam pattern and syllabus of each section. As per IBPS PO exam pattern, preliminary examination of IBPS PO will be held for 100 marks while the mains examination will carry 200 marks. The total marks allotted for Interview is 100. There is also negative marks for wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. Candidates need to secure sectional and overall cutoff score to qualify preliminary and mains examination.
Strategy for Time Management
Time Management is imperative for both preliminary and mains examination. There is sectional timings in IBPS PO mains examination while the preliminary examination will be held for one hour. Candidates need to manage time equally for each section. They should divide time for each section according to their difficulty level since the intellectual and mental level of each candidate is different.

Speed and accuracy matters a lot in this exam. The more questions candidates attempts with accuracy, the more they will score in the exam. Speed and accuracy comes with regular practice. Candidates need to brush up their basics, only then they can solve questions in the exam easily. Unless the concepts are clear, it will become difficult for candidates to solve questions. Candidates should practice mock tests and sample papers since it will give them confidence and skills for achieving good marks.
Candidates are advised to study the history of computer and also about internet terms. They should adopt a constructive approach in learning the aspects of computer system.
Candidates should focus on Abbreviations and Economic terminologies, overview of Indian Financial System, History of Indian banking system, Recent credit & monetary policies, Introduction to National financial institutions like RBI, IRDA, SEBI, FSDC etc. and of International organizations like World bank, IMF, UN, ADB etc, Important Government Schemes on capital & money market, Banking Terms, Current affairs related to national and international issues of last 6 months.
