IBPS SO 2018 – What’s New

IBPS has announced change in the exam pattern for IBPS SO 2018. Earlier the recruitment process consisted of one single examination followed by personal interview. From this year onwards, the exam consists of three stages, prelims, mains and personal interview. The preliminary exam tested the candidates on English language, Reasoning and Quantitative aptitude whereas the mains exam will consist of only professional knowledge test items. Candidates qualifying the preliminary exam have become eligible to sit for the mains exam and those who qualify both the former rounds, will be called for personal interview.

IBPS SO Application Form 2018

The application form of IBPS SO 2018 was released online on November 7, 2017. All the aspirants willing to work at the post of Specialist Officer in public sector banks had to fill the online application form. Candidates had to submit their application form online as applications through any other mode was not acceptable. The IBPS SO application form had to be filled and submitted in five parts Registration/Basic Info, uploading of photograph & signature, details, preview and payment of application fee. 

All the candidates had to pay the application fees while submitting their application form. The amount of fees for candidates of PwD/SC/ST category was Rs.100/-whereas all the other candidates will have to pay Rs.600/- as application fees. Applications submitted without the payment of fees would not be accepted by the commission.

Applicants had to begin with new registration by providing their details like, name, contact number, email id etc,. After successful registration candidates had to provide more details in the application form such as academic details, preferences of banks, language proficiency, category, number of attempts, choice of exam cities. Ensure all the details entered in the application correct before submission. IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018

IBPS decides the eligibility criteria for the applicants willing to participate in IBPS SO recruitment. The eligibility criteria highlights a few requirements in terms of educational qualifications, age limit and nationality. All the applicantshave to check the eligibility criteria of IBPS SO for the preferred post before filling the application form.

The eligibility conditions for SO recruitment as per the previous notification must be between 20 to 30 years of age and should be a citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee settled in India. Applicants who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia,Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with an aim to settle in India and fulfill the age criteria can also apply for IBPS SO 2018 exam.

IBPS SO Exam Centres 2018

The preliminary exam of IBPS SO 2018 was conducted at various exam centres, now the mains exam will be held across the country in various exam centres. The list of IBPS SO 2018 exam centres for mains exam is being made available to the candidates in the official notification. Applicants have to check the names of exam centres and indicate their preference in the application form. IBPS will allot exam centres to candidates out of their given choices based on convenience, response of the exam centre with UPSC and availability of seats. In case a centre opted by the applicant gets frozen due to unavailability will be allotted a different centre based on the discretion of IBPS. The exam centre allotted to the candidate will be mentioned on their hall tickets and IBPS will not entertain any requests for change of exam centres. Candidates will have to appear for the exam only in the centres alloted to them by IBPS and in case any candidate appears for the exam in any other centre, he/she will not be allowed to appear for the exam. IBPS SO Admit Card 2018

The admit card of IBPS SO 2018 mains exam has been released by IBPS in January 19, 2018. The IBPS SO mains exam 2018 is scheduled to be held on January 28, 2018. The candidates who qualify mains exam of IBPS SO 2018 will be shortlisted to appear for the interview conducted by the participating organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Banks in each State/ UT. The IBPS SO 2018 admit card for interview has been released February 16, 2018. IBPS SO admit card 2018 for mains exam and interview will be issued online. The candidates must note that IBPS will not send IBPS SO admit card by post/ courier. IBPS SO Exam Pattern 2018

The exam pattern of IBPS SO exam has been changed from this year onwards. All the candidates who are appearing for the exam have to sit for the remaining stages - mains and personal interview instead of a single examination and personal interview. Candidates should know the paper pattern of IBPS SO 2018 prior to attempting the exam in order to understand the mode of the exam, number of sections, number of questions section-wise as well as overall, negative marking, sectional as well as total marks.

As per the notification regarding change of exam pattern, the preliminary exam will be served as a screening test and marks secured by the candidates in the prelims will not be counted for final order of merit. The preliminary exam of IBPS SO will consist of questions from English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude whereas the mains exam will test the candidates on test items from professional knowledge.

The preliminary and mains exam, both will be objective in nature. Candidates will have to choose the correct option out of four choices for each question. IBPS SO Syllabus 2018

The syllabus of IBPS SO enlists the important topics for each section of IBPS SO 2018 exam. The answer key of IBPS SO 2018 prelims was  released after the successful conduction of the exams. Now the IBPS SO Answer Key 2018 for mains exam will be released by coaching institutes once the exam has been successful conducted. Since the IBPS SO 2018 exam will be conducted online, answer keys will be released online only by coaching institutes and IBPS will not provide with any keys.

IBPS SO Result 2018

The result of IBPS Specialist Officers is being declared for all the three stages – prelims, mains and interview. The IBPS SO result of main exam has been declared on February 7, 2018. The IBPS SO result 2018 for preliminary exam had been announced on January 12. IBPS uses equi-percentile method to obtain the corrected scores secured by the candidates in prelims and mains exam through normalization while calculating IBPS SO result 2018. IBPS SO Cutoff 2018

The IBPS SO cutoff of prelims exam will be released soon. IBPS will decide the cutoff scores for all the stages of IBPS SO 2018 recruitment to select eligible candidates. The cutoff scores of IBPS SO 2018 prelims and mains is applied on candidate’s individual and total score. The institute decides the cutoff score on the basis of level of difficulty of the exam, number of candidates, total number of posts, etc. The category wise maximum and minimum cutoff score (combined scores in main exam and interview out of 100) will be fixed for provisional allotment and reserve list.
