JKPSC KAS 2016 prelims exam: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) conducted the preliminary exam of Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) on March 19. As per news reports, about 47000 candidates had appeared for the combined competitive examination in 6 examination centres spread across the state. The chairman of JKPSC hinted at the number of students appearing for the exam while reviewing the arrangements for the JK civil services exam with Deputy Commissioners of various districts through video conferencing.
The JKPSC KAS 2016 exam was held in two sessions i.e. morning session commencing at 10 AM to 12 Noon for general studies and the afternoon session from 2 PM to 4 PM was for the optional subject. This time the the centres of preliminary examination were set in Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Rajouri, Leh, Kargil enabling candidates from far flung areas to participate in the examination without any inconvenience. Paper 1 of JKPSC KAS 2016 prelims was of 150 marks and the paper 2 was of 300 marks.
The Jammu and Kashmir KAS Result for the preliminary exam is expected to be announced in the April 2017. The candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by the commission will be declared as qualified and will be able to sit for the mains examination. The dates of mains examination will be notified after the result has been declared by the commission.
JKPSC is conducting the KAS 2016 exam to fill 277 vacancies referred to it by the state government for direct recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services, Police and Accounts services.
