SSC CGL 2017SSC CGL 2017: The answer key of SSC CGL 2017 has been released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on April 13. SSC CGL answer key has been released for the Tier II exam of SSC CGL 2017. The resut of SSC CGL Tier II exam is expected to be announced in March. SSC had conducted Tier II of SSC CGL from February 17 to February 22. SSC CGL admit card of Tier II exam was released by SSC on February 6. Only the candidates who had qualified Tier I of SSC CGL 2017 appeared for Tier 2. The revised SSC CGL result 2017 of Tier 1 exam was released in three lists on January 11, 2018. Along with the revised result, SSC had also released revised SSC CGL cutoff 2017 for Tier 1 exam. Also, the revised marks of SSC CGL Tier 1 for all candidates were released by the commission. The SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 revised marks for all the nine regions were declared separately. As per the revised SSC CGL result 2017, the cut off marks of SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 exam were lowered. Also, 39434 more candidates featured in the revised SSC CGL 2017 result lists. A total of 189838 candidates had qualified in SSC CGL 2017 Tier 1 exam out of total 15,43,418 test takers. Out of the qualified candidates, 21,946 were shortlisted for SSC CGL Tier II and Tier III for the post Assistant Audit Officer (AAO) while 14,515 for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO). What is SSC CGL 2017 exam?

SSC is conducting the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination to fill up vacancies in different categories of Group A, B and C posts. Candidates selected on the basis of Tier I, Tier II & Tier III exam are posted in various ministries/departments/organisations such as Assistants in Ministries/Departments, Attached and Subordinate office of the Govt. of India, Inspectors of Central Excise & Customs, Inspectors of Income Tax, Preventive Officers in Customs, Examiner in Customs, Sub-Inspectors in Central Bureau of Narcotics & CBI, Assistant Enforcement Officer in Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue, Divisional Accountant, Jr. Accountant, Auditor & UDCs in various offices of Govt. of India, Auditor Offices under C&AG, CGDA, CGA & others, Accountant/ Junior Accountant, Tax Assistant in CBDT and CBEC, Compiler in Registrar General of India etc. The commission this year has released a total of 8089 vacancies under SSC CGL recruitment exam 2017.

Important Highlights of SSC CGL 2017

This year SSC has made some major changes in the pattern of SSC CGL 2017. The changes are mentioned below.

  • SSC has reduced the exam timing for Tier 1 exam from 75 minutes to 60 minutes.
  • The post of complier is not mentioned in the notification.
  • The post code B for the post of Assistant in Central Vigilance Commission is not mentioned in this year’s SSC CGL 2017 notification.
  • The commission has added 7 exam cities - Berhampore (Odisha), Bharatpur (Rajasthan), Vijaywada (Andhra Pradesh), Nizamabad (Telangana), Warangal (Telangana), Ahmednagar and Alibaug (both in Maharashtra)

SSC CGL Application Form 2017

The application procedure of SSC CGL is over now. The SSC CGL application form 2017 was available from May 16 to June 19, 2017. Only online applications were accepted for the recruitment exam. The commission had received a total of 30,26,598 online applications for SSC CGL 2017 exam. Last year, the commission had received over 38 lakh applications.

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2017

The SSC CGL eligibility criteria 2017 are the set of norms in terms of age, educational qualification, nationality which the candidates will have to fulfil in order to be eligible for the recruitment exam. The SSC CGL 2017 eligibility criteria has been fixed by the exam conducting body which is SSC for different posts. The eligibility criteria of SSC CGL 2017 has been provided below.

Age Limit: The age limit varies as per the posts. The age of the candidates will be calculated as on August 1, 2017. The maximum age limit for SSC CGL exam is 32 years and minimum age limit is 18 years for general category candidates. Relaxation in the age limit will be provided to the reserved category candidates as per government rule.

Educational qualification as on August 1, 2017.

Assistant Audit Officer:

a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute

b) Desirable Qualifications for the Post of Assistant Audit Officer: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Statistical Investigator Grade–II: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

Compiler: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or Elective subject.

All other Posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
For posts of Assistant Section Officer (CSS), Computer Proficiency Test has also been prescribed as an essential qualification.

SSC CGL Admit Card 2017

The admit card for SSC CGL Tier II exam had been released on February 6. Candidates appearing for the exam can download their call letter till the last day of the exam. The SSC CGL 2017 admit card had been released regionwise and candidates can download their hall ticket through their registration id/roll number and date of birth. The admit card of SSC CGL 2017 had been released online and the exam authority did not send the hard copy of admit card by post. Candidates are not be allowed to appear for the exam without SSC CGL admit card 2017. Candidates qualifying for Tier 3 & 4 will be issued separate admit cards for the exam.

SSC CGL Exam Centres 2017

The online exam of SSC CGL 2017 Tier II is being conducted across 128 exam centres. Candidates while filling up their application form were required to indicate their choice of exam centres. No change of exam centres will be allowed, hence, the candidates were required to select the centres carefully and indicate the same in the application form correctly. SSC reserves the right to allot and cancel SSC CGL exam centres 2017.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2017

The exam pattern of SSC CGL provides details related to paper pattern, number of sections, number of questions per sections, marking scheme, total marks, sectional weightage etc. SSC will conduct the SSC CGL 2017 exam in four tiers – Tier I, Tier II, Tier III & Tier IV. According to the SSC CGL exam pattern 2017, the Tier I & Tier II is conducted in online mode while Tier III will be conducted in pen and paper mode. The Tier IV which is Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) /Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) will be held online. SSC CGL Tier III Exam Pattern 2017: The Tier III exam of SSC CGL is a descriptive test. This paper has been introduced to assess the writing skills of the candidates which is necessary in government jobs. The paper will carry 100 marks.

SSC CGL Tier IV Exam Pattern 2017: The SSC CGL Tier IV exam is Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) /Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). This test will be qualifying in nature.

SSC CGL Answer Key 2017

The answer key of SSC CGL Tier 2 2017 will be released tentatively in the first week of March, 2018. SSC had released the official answer key of SSC CGL Tier I on September 7, 2017. To download SSC CGL answer key 2017 candidates have to enter their user ID, password and select the exam date. SSC CGL Result 2017

The result of SSC CGL Tier II exam is expected to be announced in March. SSC had announced revised SSC CGL result 2017 of Tier 1 exam on January 11, 2018. On the basis of SSC CGL Tier 1 result 2017, candidates were shortlisted to appear for Tier 2 and Tier 3 exams. The result of SSC CGL is announced in three phases – Tier I, Tier II and final. The final result is prepared adding the marks of SSC CGL 2017 Tier I, Tier II & Tier III exam. Allotment of candidates to the various posts will be strictly done on the basis of merit and their preferences.

SSC CGL Cutoff 2017

The cut off for SSC CGL Tier II exam is expected to be announced in March. SSC had released revised SSC CGL cutoff 2017 for Tier 1 exam on January 11, 2018. The SSC CGL cutoff score is decided by the exam conducting body to delimit candidates for further rounds of selection process. Only those candidates who had scored minimum qualifying marks as per SSC CGL 2017 cutoff in Tier 1 had been declared qualified for SSC CGL Tier 2 and Tier 3 exams. There is no sectional cutoff in SSC CGL 2017 exam. The SSC CGL Cutoff 2017 has been fixed as per different categories taking into consideration certain factors such as difficulty level, number of candidates appeared for the test, previous year cutoff scores, number of vacancies etc. Candidates will have to secure SSC CGL 2017 cutoff score in Tier II to be eligible for appearing in Tier III and Tier IV.
