SSC JESSC JE 2018: The Junior Engineer (JE) exam is a competitive examination conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Junior Engineers Group B Non-Gazetted in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quality and Quantity Assurance in Central Government departments. The recruitment process of SSC JE 2018 involves a two stage selection procedure – paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 of JE 2018 is an objective computer based test while the paper 2 is a descriptive test. Paper 1 will be held from January 5 to 8, 2018 result for which is expected to be declared in February 2018. Candidates qualifying paper 1 as per the minimum qualifying standards will be eligible to appear for paper 2, dates of which will be announced later. The final result of SSC JE will be prepared on the basis of the candidate’s performance in both paper 1 and 2. SSC JE Important Dates 2018

The schedule for the recruitment and examination of SSC JE 2018 has been announced by the commission in the annual calendar hosted on the official website. The official notification will be released on October 14 commencing the online application process. Paper 1 will be held from January 5-8, 2018. SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2018

SSC will decide the eligibility conditions for aspirants of SSC JE 2018 planning to participate in the recruitment process. Applicants should check and ensure they fulfill all the eligibility conditions before filling the online application form. While the SSC JE 2018 eligibility criteria varies according to the post, some criteria is common for all the posts.

SSC JE Eligibility 2018

Education qualification: Applicants should posses a degree/diploma in Engineering from an institute recognised by the state or centre.

Age limit: Applicants should be within the age group of 18-32 years as on August 1, 2017.(Candidates born not before 02-01-1991 and not later than 01-01-2005).

Nationality: Only a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 to settle in India and people of Indian Origin who migrated to from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India.

SSC JE Application Form 2018

The online application process for SSC JE will start from October 14 and aspirants will be able to apply until November 10, 2017. The SSC JE application form will be released online and it has to submitted through the same mode as applications from any other mode will not be accepted by the commission. The application form of SSC JE consists of two parts, part 1 and 2. Applicants will have to complete both parts of online registrations before final submission else their applications will be rejected by the commission.

Applicants will have to pay Rs.100 as application fees while submitting their online registration. Female candidates, applicants from SC/ST, physically handicapped and ex-serviceman are exempted from paying application fees. The payment of application fee for SSC JE can be done through online and offline mode. Applicants paying by cash will have to generate and print a copy of the SBI Challan and those paying online will have to complete both parts of the application form to complete the payment.

SSC JE Admit Card 2018

SSC will issue the admit card for all the stages of JE 2018 examination at least two weeks prior to exam date. The SSC JE admit card will be released region wise on the commission’s website. Candidates will be able to download their hall ticket with the help of their roll number and date of birth. The admit card of SSC JE will be available only for online download and the commission will not send hall tickets by post or email. The hall ticket for SSC JE paper 1 is expected to be made available by December 2017 and the exam will be held from January 5-8, 2018.

Candidates who qualify paper 1 will be eligible to appear for paper 2 of SSC JE 2018. All the candidates will have to carry a print out of SSC JE 2018 admit card to the exam centre without which they will be barred from sitting in the exam.

SSC JE Exam Pattern 2018

The paper pattern for paper 1 and 2 of SSC JE will be decided and declared by SSC along with the official notification on October 14. The Exam Pattern for each stage of SSC JE is different. SSC JE Syllabus 2018

The syllabus of SSC JE 2018 will be based on the exam pattern and section included in the stage. The subjects for each stage of JE 2018 will vary from each other and the candidates will be required to prepare for the examination as per the syllabus of SSC JE issued by the commission. General Intelligence & Reasoning: The syllabus for General Intelligence includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.

General Awareness: Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person.

General Engineering (Civil and Structural), (Electrical & Mechanical)

  • Part-A– Civil Engineering Building Materials, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering. Structural Engineering: Theory of Structures, Concrete Technology, RCC Design, Steel Design.

  • Part-B– Electrical Engineering Basic concepts, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Fractional Kilowatt Motors and single phase induction Motors, Synchronous Machines, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.

SSC JE Sample Papers 2018

Sample papers of SSC JE will help candidates in their preparation for the examination along with understanding the type of questions asked in the exam. SSC JE Answer Key 2018

The answer key for paper 1 of SSC JE will be released online by the commission few days after the exam has been conducted. The SSC JE answer key will be released for all the subjects in two stages – provisional and final. Candidates appearing in the exam will be able to download the answer key with the help of their user id and password. Candidates will be able to challenge the provisional answer key through an online objection form that will be released by the commission. SSC JE Result 2018

The result for each stage of SSC JE recruitment process will be declared by the commission. Candidates who secure the qualifying marks in paper 1 of SSC JE will be declared qualified and will be called to appear for paper 2. The final result of SSC JE will be prepared on the basis of the candidate’s performance in paper 1 and 3. SSC JE Cut off 2018

SSC JE Cut off 2018 is the minimum qualifying marks set by the exam conducting body to select candidates for the next level of the recruitment process. Candidates have to secure the SSC JE cut off in paper 1 to qualify for paper 2. The category-wise cut off list of SSC JE will be made available in along with the declaration of result.

SSC JE Selection Procedure 2018

The selection procedure of SSC CHSL comprises two parts – computer based test (Objective test), descriptive test All the candidates participating in the recruitment process will have to qualify both the stages as per the minimum qualifying standards to be shortlisted for final appointment. Candidates who qualify the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be called for the descriptive test. Final selection of candidates will be made on the basis of Computer based Written Examination (Tier-I) and Descriptive Paper (Tier-II). Allotment of candidates to the different (user) departments will be made on the basis of merit.
