SSC JE 2017: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC JE exam for recruitment of Junior Engineers Group B Non-Gazetted posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quality and Quantity Assurance in Central Government departments. The commission has declared the result of Paper 1 exam of SSC JE on June 5, 2017. The Computer Based Test (CBT) of SSC JE Paper 1 was conducted from March 1 to 4, 2017. A total 3,39,379 candidates had appeared in the SSC JE Paper 1 exam. Out of which, total 8332 candidates have qualified for Paper 2 based on the result of SSC JE Paper 1. The Paper 2 examination of SSC Junior Engineer 2017 will be conducted on July 30, 2017. The admit cards for Paper 2 exam will be released soon. The eligibility criteria of SSC JE 2017 specifies about the age, nationality, academic qualification for the post of Junior Engineer. The application form of SSC JE was available from October 1 to November 3, 2017. Applications were accepted in online mode only. The SSC JE application form 2018 will be released October 10, 2017. The application form comprises of two parts – Part 1 online registration and Part 2 apply part. The Part 1 of SSC JE application form involves filling up of basic information such as academic details, personal details, contact number, email ID etc. In SSC JE application form Part 2, candidates are required to pay application fee and upload scanned photograph and signature as per the given specifications. The SSC JE application fee is Rs 100 for General Category while women, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped and Ex-Servicemen need not to pay any fee.

The admit card for SSC JE Paper 2 will be released in July 2017. The exam of Paper 2 is scheduled to be conducted in July 30, 2017. SSC JE admit card 2017 will be available in online mode as per regions. The link to download admit card will be provided on this page. Candidates will have to enter their registration number and date of birth to download and print admit card. The commission will not sent the hard copy of SSC JE admit card to candidates by post. The admit card will contains date, time, venue of examination. If any candidate do not receive the admit card of SSC JE prior the commencement of examination should report to the examination authority for obtaining the admission certificate.
The examination of SSC JE comprises of two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Paper 1 exam of SSC JE is conducted in Computer Based Mode. The test comprises of objective type test of 200 marks. The SSC JE Paper 1 consisted of General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, General Engineering (Civil and Structural)/General Engineering (Electrical)/General Engineering (Mechanical). Aspirants can access the answer key by logging with their user ID and password (DOB). Representations with regard to the answer key was available from 27.04.2017 to 01.05.2017 (5.00 PM). Candidates through the answer key can asses their performance of the exam. SSC experts will examine the representations to declare the result of SSC JE paper I. Since the SSC JE Paper 2 is a conventional type paper, therefore, the commission will not release the answer key.
SSC has declared the result of SSC Junior Engineer of Paper 1 on June 5, 2017. The SSC JE result has been made available online. Candidates can check their result on this page. Only those candidates who have secured qualifying marks in Paper 1 have been shortlisted for Paper 2. The total aggregate score of candidates in Paper 1 has been calculated out of 200 marks after deducting the penalty for wrong answers. The SSC JE Paper 2 is conventional type test. Based on the marks of Paper 1 and 2, merit list will be prepared. Allotments in various departments will be done from amongst candidates in the merit list.

The cutoff of SSC JE Paper 1 has been released on June 5, 2017 along with the result. The SSC JE cutoff of Paper 1 has been released in the form of marks. Based on the cutoff score, candidates have been shortlisted for Paper 2. The SSC JE cutoff Paper 1 is provided on this page. The SSC JE cutoff 2017 is applied at each of selection process. Candidates will have to secure the cutoff to become eligible for next stage of selection process. Candidates will be selected on the basis of Paper 1 and Paper 2 marks. Appointments will be made on the basis of candidates ranks in the merit list and post preferences. Candidates appointed on the basis of SSC JE 2017 examination, shall be on probation for a period of two years. On successful completion of the period of probation, the candidates if found fit for permanent appointment will be confirmed to their post by the Controlling Authority.
