SSC Stenographer 2017 notification released: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released notification inviting applications for the post of Stenographer Grade C & D. The application form of SSC Stenographer 2017 is available from June 19 to July 15. The Computer Based Test (CBT) of SSC Stenographer Grade C & D is scheduled to be held from September 4 to 7, 2017.
The recruitment will be carried out in two phases – CBT followed by skill test. The commission will announce the number of vacancies in due course of time. Candidates selected on the basis of CBT, subjected to their meeting basic qualifying standards fixed in Skill test will be given appointments in various Ministries/Departments of Central Government to the post of Stenographer Grade C and Stenographers Grade D.

The SSC Stenographer 2017 application form can be filled in two parts – Part I and Part II. The SSC Stenographer Part I application form involves filling up of personal details, academic qualification, contact details etc. The SSC Stenographer Part II application form involves payment of application fee, uploading of scanned images of signature and photographer as per required dimension. The application fee of SSC Stenographer is Rs 100 for General and OBC category candidates and women/SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Servicemen need to pay any application fees.
Candidates before applying should ensure that they fulfill the SSC Stenographer eligibility criteria. The age limit prescribed by the examination authority is 18-27 years for general category. However, relaxation in upper age limit will be given to the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, Ex.Servicemen etc. Candidates must have passed their Class 10/HSC from a recognized board or university.
The examination will be conducted across 87 exam cities spread throughout the country. Candidates while filling the application form should enter their choice of SSC Stenographer 2017 exam cities. According to SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern, the CBT will comprise of three papers on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. The total marks of the exam is 100.
