BLAT 2018 - BLAT 2018 Every year, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) conducts BHU Law Admission Test (BLAT) across various cities in a pen-paper based mode. BLAT 2018 is held for admission to the 60 BA LLB seats of the university. BHU online registration rounds will commence from the first week of February 2018 and aspirants (General category) with at least 50% in their Class 12 board or equivalent examination are eligible to apply for the test. BLAT 2018 is expected to be held on May 2018 and the test will include 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The duration of the test is 2 hours and each correct answer will carry 3 marks while 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answers. BLAT 2018 result will be available online and it will provide the candidates qualifying status and rank. Based on candidates rank, they will be shortlisted for the counselling rounds of BLAT. BA LLB aspirants applying for BLAT are advised to be familiar with the eligibility norms. The BLAT eligibility criteria are the minimum requirements that each candidate must fulfill. Failing to meet any of the BLAT 2018 eligibility norms will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage of admission process. According to the eligibility norms of BHU law admission test 2018, aspirants who are appearing or have passed their Class 12 board or equivalent examination can apply for the test. The minimum marks to be obtained in the qualifying exams are as follows -
BHU will release the BLAT application form online from the first week of February 2018. Aspirants must fill the application form and submit the same within the last date. To fill the application form of BLAT 2018, applicants can follow the steps provided below -
Step 1 - BLAT registration: To start with the BLAT application process, applicants are required to register by entering their email ID, date of birth, mobile number and other required details.
Step 2 Selection of programme: Only after successful registration, candidates will be able to access the BLAT application form. First, applicants are required to select the course they are applying before they start filling the application form.
Step 3 Filling of BLAT application form: Now, students can fill their application form with all the necessary details, select their exam city and upload the required images.
Step 4 Reviewing the filled application details: After filling the details, candidates are required to review the form and make sure there are no errors.
Step 5 Payment of BLAT application fee: Once the applicants are confirmed that they have filled all details correctly, then they can pay the application fee.
The BHU law entrance exam will be held across various test centres located in 16 (approx.) cities. As mentioned above, candidates can select one test city while filling the application form. Complete address of the BLAT exam centre will be mentioned on the admit card. After completion of the application process, an exam centre will be allotted. Applicants must note that BHU wont be accepting any request for changing the test centre.
The BLAT admit card will be available online for candidates who have applied for the test before the last date. A week before the conduct of BLAT 2018, BHU will be releasing the admit card. SMS and email alerts regarding the issuance of BLAT admit card 2018 will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID of the candidates. To download BLAT hall ticket, candidates are required to provide their email ID or their exam registration ID. After downloading the hall ticket, candidates must paste a passport size photograph similar to the one uploaded in the application form. On the day of the exam, candidates must carry the admit card to the exam hall. Also, after the conduct of the test, candidates must keep the admit card safe till the conclusion of the admission process.
The test will be held in a pen-paper based mode. As per the BLAT exam pattern, the question booklet will include 150 MCQs and to complete the test, 2 hours will be allotted to test takers. For every correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded while 1 mark will be deducted for wrong answers. No marks will be added or deducted for unanswered questions.

Getting familiar with the syllabus of BLAT 2018 will help aspirants to prepare accordingly. Also, once candidates are familiar with the topics and sub-topics, candidates wont waste time on unnecessary topics.
After going through the syllabus and test pattern, candidates can start solving the BLAT sample papers. Solving these sample papers of BLAT will help candidates to have a better understanding of the test structure and topics on which the questions will be based. These BLAT sample papers are prepared by various experts according to the latest exam structure and syllabus. After solving each BLAT practice paper, candidates must analyse answers to know their strengths and weakness, and prepare well.
On exam day, candidates must reach the test centre at least 30 minutes before the exam starts along with their admit card. Candidates failing to carry their admit card wont be allowed to enter the exam hall and write the test. Also, they must bring a Black or Blue ballpoint pen to write their details and mark their answers. Once the exam starts, candidates wont be allowed to leave the hall till the test ends.
After the conduct of BHU law admission test, the university will release the answer keys online. Test takers are required to download BLAT answer key and start matching the keys against their responses. Candidates are advised to go through the keys and in case of any errors in them, they can raise an objection and submit the same within the time-period.
The university will release BLAT result online and it will provide the qualifying status, rank obtained and other details about the candidates. Also, an SMS and an email will be sent to the candidates registered mobile number and email address providing their marks, overall merit and category-wise merit. To check the BLAT 2018 result, candidates are required to enter their examination roll number.
Candidates who have appeared in the test must score the minimum cutoff marks to get shortlisted for the counselling rounds. BLAT cutoff ranks are the minimum ranks that test takers must obtain to get shortlisted for the counselling rounds. Based on various factors like the number of seats, difficulty level of the test and total number of candidates, BLAT 2018 cutoff will be prepared. The required cutoff ranks of BLAT will vary with the category of candidates.
Only the candidates obtaining the required ranks will be shortlisted for the BLAT counselling rounds. These shortlisted candidates will be sent a call letter which will provide the details about the counselling schedule and procedure. Candidates receiving the call letters are required to fill the online preference entry form. As per the counselling schedule, students are required to visit the BLAT counselling venue along with all the required documents to complete the admission process. After allotment of seats candidates are required to pay the fees within the last date. Failing to make the payment will lead to cancellation of the allotted seats.
