CLAT Syllabus 2018 – The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2018 will include 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) based on topics such as - English including Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, Legal Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. Law aspirants must get familiar with the CLAT syllabus 2018 before they start preparing for the test. With the help of the syllabus for CLAT, candidates will be able to know the topics and sub-topics. Also, the CLAT syllabus will help the aspirants to avoid wasting time on unnecessary topics. Last year in CLAT, topics such as General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Legal Aptitude carried more weightage. This year, the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi will be conducting CLAT exam on May 13, 2018. CLAT Syllabus 2018

The CLAT syllabus will help the aspirants to know the various topics and sub-topics on which the questions will be based. There will be a total of 200 Multiple Choice Questions and candidates will be provided 2 hours to complete the test. Each correct attempt will be awarded 1 mark and for every wrong attempt, 0.25 marks will be deducted. These MCQs will be divided into various sections, which are Comprehension, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, Legal Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning. Topics of CLAT Syllabus 2018

The syllabus of CLAT can be divided into 5 sections, which are -

How to prepare for CLAT 2018?

All the above-mentioned sections will have questions based on various topics and sub-topics. The candidates can check the list of topics and sub-topics of CLAT syllabus from the tables provided below.

English including Comprehension: For this section, candidates are required to have a good command over English vocabulary, proficiency and reading skills. This section will have 40 questions. Each question will carry 1 mark. Candidates are advised to regularly read editorial sections of the newspapers, journals, magazines, novels, grammar books, etc. to improve their reading skills and grammar as well. The various topics and sub-topics that aspirants can go through to prepare for this section are provided below -

Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability): The topics in this section will be based on the basics of Mathematics. To prepare for this section, candidates can refer to the Class 10 and 12 standard Mathematics books. The various topics and sub-topics on which the questions will be based on are provided in the table below. Candidates are advised to practice these topics to improve their problem-solving abilities.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Candidates can refer to quiz books and year books to prepare for this section. However, candidates can regularly read the newspapers and news magazines to stay updated with the latest events.
