Chanakya National Law University, Patna, popularly known as CNLU, will conduct the CLAT 2017 (Common Law Admission Test) on 14 May 2017. MNLU Nagpur is the latest entry to join the committee of CLAT. With this addition, the total number of seats for CLAT 2017 will be 2,312. This has been reportedly revealed by Dr. A. Lakshminath, CLAT convenor. The convenor also reportedly said that a notification regarding the online test will be issued on 25 December 2016.
Sharing the CLAT exam calendar along with the modifications in admission policy, the CLAT convenor, said, “CLAT 2017 applications will begin from 1 January as we will be conducting the exam on 14 May for which the results will be declared on 25 May.” He added, “This year the exam will be conducted for a total of 2,312 seats as MNLU Nagpur is the 18th NLU to join CLAT committee.”
He also said that organising process for the CLAT is going on and very soon the website for CLAT 2017 will be launched.
Some modifications/changes made in CLAT 2017
Consequent to the order of Bar Council of India (BCI) to all universities and law institutions with respect to the age criteria, the examination committe has brought about certain modifications in the eligibility crieteria of CLAT 2017. In order to be eligible to apply for CLAT 2017, a candidate should be younger than 20 years in case of general category. However, in case of OBC/SC/ST/Differently-Abled categories, the candidate’s age should be less than 22 years.

Guidelines for preparation of CLAT 2017
As thousands of candidates appear for CLAT every year, there are only limited number of seats to be filled, which are 2,312 for the year CLAT 2017. Therefore, in order to clear the CLAT 2017, one must follow the following guidelines:
- As you all must have been preparing for the CLAT for some time, you must be able to analyse your level of preparation at this stage so that you can plan for the same during the remaining before the exam.

- You can make a list of probable law colleges in which you can get admission on the basis of your present preparation level.
