DNB CET SS 2017 Counselling

The counselling of DNB CET SS 2017 will commence from March 15, 2017. It will be organised by the National Board of Examination. The candidates whose names are listed in the merit list shall have to appear at the allocated hospital/medical institute in the order of their merit position. The candidates will then exercise their options as per the rank secured and accordingly seat allocation will be done.

  • The candidates without original documents will not be allowed to participate in Centralized Counselling by NBE.

DNB CET SS 2017 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the DNB CET SS, the candidates need to fulfil below set of conditions

  • The candidates who completed their MD/MS training by December 31, 2016 are eligible to apply. Also, their medical qualification must be recognised by the Medical Council of India.
  • The candidate should have permanent registration certificate of MBBS qualification and addition medical qualification must be registered with the Medical Council of India.
  • If at any stage, it is found that the candidate is ineligible to appear for the DNB CET SS, the candidature will be cancelled immediately.
  • The candidates who are qualifying and getting their result after December 31, 2016 will not be eligible for the DNB CET SS.
  • The candidates already pursuing a course of DM/Mch or DNB are not eligible to apply for the DNB CET SS.
  • The candidates need to produce all the necessary documents at the time of DNB CET SS Counselling.

Medical Genetics

  • National Board of Examination has introduced Medical Genetics, 3 years super speciality course from January 2015 academic session. The candidates possessing DNB/MD/MS qualification in General Medicine, Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology only are eligible to opt for Medical Genetics.
  • For the admission into the Medical Genetics, the merit list will be prepared from DNBCET- SS; Medical & Paediatrics sub-group respectively.

Candidates with DNB/MS qualification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology shall appear in the NBE FET (for the same academic session as DNBCET-SS) for Obstetrics and Gynaecology discipline. Their FET question paper shall have 100 questions in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and 30 questions in Medical Genetics. The marks obtained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology component (i.e. out of 100) shall be scaled to 180 and a common merit list shall be prepared (based on performance in 180+30 = 210 questions).


DNB CET SS 2017 Registration and Demo Test

Registration

The candidates need to get themselves registered online. After the successful registration, only the candidates will be able to take the exam. The candidates can use the link given here to apply for the DNB CET SS 2017. It is mandatory for the candidates to fill all the fields. The candidates should note that after successful registration they will be sent acknowledgement on the registered email Id. The candidates will be able to print the acknowledgement letter.

Step 1: Create a profile

The candidates need to create a profile first. To do so, follow the steps given below.

  • Enter the name as mentioned in MBBS provisional degree.
  • Enter your gender
  • Enter the email address.
  • After the registration, the Application email and admit card will be sent On the registered candidate’s mail Id
  • Enter father’s and mother’s name. Do not put Shri/Smt/Dr/Mr/Mrs etc while writing the name

Create a login

After creating the profile, follow the below steps in order to create a login.

Username – The username has to be a combination of alphanumeric characters (It contains the letters and characters). The maximum word limit is 50 characters.

Password – Password must be between 7-20 characters long and it should contain one alpha and one numeric character

Secret Reminder Question

The secret reminder question helps the candidate to revive the password in case, forgotten.
Additional Contact Information

Following are the information candidates need to provide

  • Secondary telephone number
  • Postal Address

The candidate must note that once the profile is created no changes can be made to the name or username. The username and password will be used to login into the profile.

Image and Signature Upload

It is mandatory for the candidates to upload their image and signature while registering. Below are some important points related to the image and photograph.

  • The image should be clear, taken against a white background
  • The uploaded image should not be older than 6 months
  • The image of the digital signature should be on profile page

Step 2: Apply for DNB CET SS

After the successful creation of the profile, the candidate will be taken to the exam selection screen. To register for CET SS, select “Diplomate of National Board, Centralized Entrance Test – Super Speciality (CET –SS)”

After selecting the exam, the screen will display the information related to the important dates, fee, and program

Personal Information

Now on this window, the candidates need to provide personal information related to them. Also, they need to select the super speciality course they are opting for. The candidate will have to choose their residential domicile state, which one considers their permanent state. Enter the MCI/SMC Registration number along with the name of the Medical Council. Now, Click on save and continue.

Education Background

The candidates need to provide their educational information in this section. Enter the marks secured in the MBBS program along with the medical institute from where the course has been completed. Also, the candidates need to provide information related to the post graduate course.

Photo ID and MCI/SMC Certificate Upload

All the candidates have to upload their image of their photo Id that they will carry to the test centre on the day of the exam. Click on the browse button to upload the documents

Declaration by the Candidate

In this section, the candidates need to select the “I Agree”. By doing so, the candidate confirms that all the information provided is correct and he/she is eligible for the examination.

Errors

If the candidate selects the “Save and Continue” and have left any of the mandatory fields empty. A message will appear on the screen reflecting “error”. The field left unattended will be highlighted in the red colour and the candidates are supposed to fill the required information

3. Schedule the Exam

Now, in this step, the candidate need to select the exam centre. As shown below the exam will be conducted in 41 cities of the India, any of them can be selected by the candidate as per their convenience. Availability of the exam centre will be on first cum first serve basis. The DNB CET SS 2017 is scheduled on Nov 29, 2016. There is only one session of the test at 10:00 A.M.

Select Test Site

After selecting the exam centre, the available exam sites in that exam centre will be shown. The exact address and location can be viewed by the candidate by clicking on the link “Direction”

Select Date and Time

In order to schedule the test, click on “Schedule Appointment” button. The candidate can select the date and time of the test now.

4. Make Online Payment

The candidates will have to pay Rs.4500 via Credit/Debit or online mode. Select payment option from the tabs indicated on the make payment screen and fill all the information. After filling all the details, click on “make payment” button. After successful authorisation of payment, the profile will be registered and the candidates will receive admit card within 24 hours on the registered mail id.

Confirmation Page

If the candidate has furnished all the details correctly, they will be directed to the welcome page. All the details need to be read by the candidates to make sure everything is correct. If there is anything that requires change, click on “Edit Profile” or “Edit Application” and make the required changes

After the successful registration, only the candidates will be able to take the exam. The candidates will be sent acknowledgement letter on the registered email Id after registration. The candidates will be able to print the acknowledgement letter.

DNB CET 2017 Admit Card

After the successful registration, the candidates will be sent the admit card on their registered mail id. The candidates need to take a print out of the admit card and paste the latest passport size photograph on it. Following are points to be taken care of in regard to the photograph

  • The photograph should be minimum 35×45 mm with at least 75% coverage of face & head of the candidate.
  • A caption indicating the name of candidate and date of taking the photograph should be there on the top of the photograph.
  • The background of the photograph should be white/very light
  • The photograph should be printed on high-quality paper with at least 600dpi resolutions.
  • The photograph should not be torn, or crumbled.

It must be noted by the candidates that it is mandatory to bring the admit card at the time of taking the examination. In case, the candidate does not bring the hall ticket they will not be able to take the exam.

The candidates have the option of selecting the exam centre, date and time of the examination. It can be done at the time of online registration. The exam centre will be allocated to the candidates on first cum first serve basis. It is advised to the candidates to register early so that they may get the centre of their choice. The request to change the exam centre will not be entertained.

Medical and Neonatology

Below are some important points related to Medical and Neonatology Specialities

  • Medical and Neonatology will be a two section test.
  • The time allocation of these two sections will be separate.
  • The time duration of the first section is 180 minutes
  • The second section is of 30 questions (medical genetics). It is only for those candidates who want to opt for Medical Genetics.
  • The duration provided to attempt the second section is 30 minutes
  • Total time duration for the Medical and Neonatology is 210 minutes, this time, does not include the tutorial period.

DNB CET SS 2017 Syllabus

The questions will be of post graduate Exit Examination. The questions will be asked from the topics of applied basic Sciences, clinical practice and recent advances. Below is the pattern of the question paper for different specialities
