JIPMER MBBS Exam Analysis 2017 – Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) conducted entrance test for MBBS admission on June 4, 2017 in online mode in two shifts. The first shift was from 10 am to 12.30 pm and second shift was between 3 pm to 5.30 pm. JIPMER MBBS Shift 1 Exam Analysis 2017 (10 am to 12.30 pm)
The exam for JIPMER MBBS shift 1 started from 10 am and continued till 12.30 pm. Around 67,182 candidates appeared in the first shift. After speaking to the experts and taking overview from the students an overall analysis of all the subjects has been prepared which is being elaborated below.
Physics – The section of Physics was lengthy and difficult. It was tough for most of the students. Also, there were too many calculation based questions in this section. However, there were questions which were of moderate level as well. But many students wasted too much time on the difficult questions. Overall Physics remained tricky and calculative for the students.
Chemistry – Chemistry was easier and most of the questions were direct. However, there were 6-7 questions which were difficult and took too much time of the candidates.
Biology – The questions in Biology section were complex. The questions were not covered from NCERT books. Overall, there was balance between moderate and tough questions in Biology subject.
Logic and Quantitative Reasoning – Some of the questions in this section were tricky and rest were of moderate level. Overall it was of moderate level.
English Comprehension – Among all the sections English was easiest for the candidates.
JIPMER MBBS Shift 2 Exam Analysis 2017 (3 pm to 5.30 pm)
The test of second shift started at 3 pm and continued till 5.30 pm. Approximately 82,187 candidates appeared in the second shift. The difficulty level of all the subjects in shift 2 was not very different as that from shift 1. Below are the details of easy, medium and tough level for all the subjects of JIPMER MBBS 2017 shift 2.
Physics – The Physics section remained tough for all the students just like shift 1. Only those students who were thoroughly prepared were able to do well in this section. Physics remained tough for most of the candidates in the second shift as well.
Chemistry – The Chemistry section was easy. However, it was difficult in comparison to the first shift but most of the students managed to do well in this section.
Biology – The Biology section was overall easy and the questions were from the NCERT only. However, there were some questions which were tough to understand due to which students left these questions.
Logic and Quantitative Reasoning – This section was divided into tough and easy questions. It was of moderate level.
English Comprehension – In the second shift also, English remained easy and as per the students, it was the simplest section among all.
Time Management – A real issue: For the most of the candidates, time management was a real problem. The candidates found really difficult to attempt 200 question in the given time otherwise the overall exam was of moderate level. Most of the exam takers realised that matching the speed with time in JIPMER MBBS exam is the real task to be achieved.
