The admission to the undergraduate medical and dental courses all across the nation will be granted on the basis of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Based on the NEET scores, the Directorate of Health Services prepare a separate Manipur MBBS 2017 Merit List. A candidate who will secure marks more than or equal to NEET Cutoff set by the CBSE will be eligible for the Manipur MBBS Admission.
The Directorate of Health Services granted the Manipur MBBS Admission to the candidates as per their NEET rank. There are 100 seats for the admission of eligible candidates in Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Manipur for MBBS course.
The candidates who secured the minimum qualifying marks in NEET were eligible for Manipur MBBS Admission. For the selection of the candidates, the university composed a new merit list, in which the name of eligible candidates with their rank was enlisted. Such candidates were called for the counselling process in which process of seat allotment was done as per the ranking in the merit list, preferences of the colleges and eligibility criteria. The candidates who were listed in the merit list were required to report at the venue i.e. ‘Main Auditorium Hall, JNIMS, Porompat’. Failing to report at the counselling venue leads to cancellation of the provisional allotted seat and the subsequent rank holder was allotted the seat.
The Manipur MBBS 2017 Counselling was held in two rounds for the allotment of seats. In the first round, the candidates included in the merit list were granted admission. However, in the second round, the candidates who did not get admission in the first round were eligible for the second round. All the candidates were advised to participate along with the relevant documents for the verification purpose and tuition fees.
