Telangana is one of the three states which are exempted from NEET i. e. National Eligibility Entrance Test which is in effect from the year 2016. Apart from the Telangana, Jammu Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh are the only states that will not offer admission into the medical colleges on the basis of NEET.

The counselling for the colleges listed above will be organised by Jawahar Lal Technical University Hyderabad. It will offer the admission into the MBBS and BDS courses of the colleges. It is to be noted here that the fee structure provided here is only for the MBBS course.

Telangana organised the medical entrance examination this year and offered the admission on the basis TS EAMCET Score Card. However, the state body has to conduct the exam three times as the first two examinations were scrapped due the issues related to leak of test paper.

The exam which was considered for the admission was held on September 11, 2016. In the upcoming session it is expected that state body will continue to conduct its own entrance examination. The TS EAMCET Medical Counselling ended on September 20, 2016 for the current session.

The scenario for states which are exempted from the NEET is different as compared to the other states. The syllabus for the medical entrance examination of the Telangana will be different and the candidates will have to prepare accordingly.
