NEET 2017 Faqs – Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted National Eligibility Entrance Test on May 7, 2017 in pen paper mode. Question - What is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test–UG (NEET-UG)?
Answer – It is the single window medical entrance exam based on which the admission will be offered into the undergraduate medical and dental (MBBS and BDS) courses in India. Based on NEET Score admission into 52,305 MBBS and BDS seats will be offered by to the qualified candidates. The candidates must note that no state or private medical body is allowed to organise the medical entrance examintion. NEET Score will be the sole basis for medical and dental admission.
Question – What are the quotas and seats on which admission will be offered through NEET?
Answer – Through NEET, admission will be offered into the following seats/quotas.
Question - Who will conduct the NEET and organise the counselling to offer admission into medical/dental institutes across the country?
Answer – Central Board of Secondary Education will organise the NEET. In the session 2017, it will be conducted on May 7, 2017, in the offline mode. The exam will be organised in 80 cities The counselling and seat allotment procedure will be done by the DGHS.
Question – Are there any colleges or state bodies that are exempted from the purview of NEET
Answer – Yes, AIIMS and JIPMER are exempted from NEET as they both are autonomous bodies and will be conducting their own medical entrance examination in order to offer admission to the respective institutes. Till Now, state body has any such exemption.
Question – What will be the eligibility Criteria of NEET 2017 for the Reserved and Unreserved category?
Answer – Anyone who studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 and secured 50%. Also at the time of admission at least completing 17 years (lower age limit) will be eligible to apply. Question – Are Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) can apply for NEET?
Answer- Yes, they will be eligible to apply for NEET.
Question – Are NRIs, PIOs, OCI category candidates also eligible for the 15% All India Quota?
Answer – Yes, the candidates of the aforesaid category will be eligible to take admission under 15% All India Quota.
Question - If a candidate is opting Assamese as the language of question paper, can he/she get the centre of examination in Delhi?
Answer – No, if the candidate is opting the vernacular language, he/she will be allocated the exam centre in the same state. In the case of given question, the exam centre will be Assam.
Question – If the candidate is opting the language of the Test paper of NEET 2017 in Hindi or vernacular language? In which language Test Paper will be provided?
Answer – In such case, the test paper will be provided in chosen language and English. In case of any ambiguity, English version shall be treated as final.
Question – Can I change the option of language once the form is submitted?
Answer – In no case, the language option can be altered. The candidates are advised to select the language carefully as exam centres will be allocated accordingly.
Question – Is there any change in the syllabus of NEET-UG?
Answer - No. Syllabus of NEET-UG, 2017 will be similar to the syllabus of 2016.
Question - Can CBSE allocate the examination centre in any city other than the three options exercised by the candidates?
Answer – Yes, CBSE reserves the right to allocate any exam centre to the applicant.
Question – In case of any problem in filling the NEET 2017 Application Form? Who can be approached?
Answer – If the candidates are facing any problem in submitting the NEET 2017 Application Form, they can contact Common Services Centres. It will act as the Facilitation Centres this time and will provide the services against the fee prescribed.
Question - Is a candidate passed class XII with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects from NIOS, eligible to appear for NEET-UG?
Answer – Yes, the applicants who passed 10+2 from open school with 50% and fulfil the other eligibility criteria can apply and appear for NEET 2017

Question – Will there be negative marking in NEET 2017?
Answer – Yes, for each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted.

Answer – The candidates will need to bring the following things to the exam centre
Candidates are advised not to bring any other item at the examination centres. There will not be any arrangement for safe keeping of any material at the centre. Neither CBSE nor centre will be responsible for any loss, delay etc.
Question – How many times a candidate can appear for NEET?
Answer – AS per the official notification, the number of the attempts for NEET has been restricted to three times
Question – If someone has appeared in state or private medical entrance examination three, is she/he eligible to appear for NEET?
Answer – Yes, as theses attempts are specifically for NEET so no matter how many times one appeared for the state or private medical entrance examination. They will be eligible to appear for NEET
Question – I have appeared for NEET 2013 and twice in NEET-I 2016 and NEET-II? Am I eligible to appear for NEET 2017?
Answer – Yes, as in the year 2016 those who appeared in both NEET I and II, the result of only one test was considered and the other one was nullified which means the total attempt are two. One is still left.
The application form of NEET 2017 has been issued, the interested applicants will be able to apply between January 31 to March 1, 2017. The candidates can register themselves in the online mode.
