NEET 2017 Topper Interview: Navdeep Singh secured AIR 1

Navdeep Singh has topped NEET 2017 with AIR 1, securing 697 marks out of 720. He obtained 99.99 total percentile in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. This Muktsar boy is fond of playing cricket. He passed class 12th with 88% marks from Shivalik Public School and perfect 10 CGPA in class 10. His father Gopal Singh is a teacher at Government Senior Secondary School in Charewan village of Muktsar district. Navdeep’s mother Simarjeet Kaur, is an employee in LIC. 

Navdeep took coaching for NEET entrance examination from Helix Institute, Chandigarh. Mr. Singh said, “I was sure of clearing the exam but never expected to become All India topper.” Navdeep has decided to secure admission in Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi for MBBS course.

Shy by nature, Navdeep has been regular in his studies. He shared how overwhelmed he is securing AIR 1, "I was expecting good marks but the result is overwhelming. I am glad that I could make my state and especially my city proud by bringing it on front nationally, as it is a very small and not much known place."  

Sharing his views about the impact of social media, Navdeep said, “I did not used Facebook or WhatsApp for two years. My mother sacrificed more than me. She never attended any parties or functions and accompanied me all the time. This score was just because of my parents and teachers.”

At last, Navdeep Singh says that aspirants must have faith in them. They should not think about result and must appear for examination with full confidence. According to Singh, candidates must choose their career with no peer pressure and must discuss their ideas with parents.
