NEET PG 2017: Over 64,000 Candidates QualifiedAs National Board of Examination (NBE) has declared merit list of NEET PG 2017 on January 22, over 64,000 candidates from different categories qualified NEET PG 2017 out of which 31,330 have been selected for participating in all India counselling process scheduled to begin from March.

As many as 31,330 candidates have qualified for participating in 50% All India Quota Seats for admission to Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and PG Diploma programmes offered in government medical colleges across India. However, AIIMS (New Delhi), PGIMER (Chandigarh), SGPGIMS (Lucknow), JIPMER (Puducherry) and NIMHANS (Bengaluru) are exempted from NEET PG ambit and allowed to conduct their own entrance exam for admission to MD/MS/Diploma programmes seats under their control.

Out of the total 64,135 candidates who have qualified NEET PG 2017, as many as 32,519 belong to general category. The topper of NEET PG 2017 has scored as much as 1240.50 marks out of total marks 1500.

Also, a total of 52,226 candidates fail to secure qualifying marks in NEET PG 2017 which was held in computer based mode from December 5 to 13, 2016 at various designated testing centres across India.
