Statistical Overview of UP Board 10th Result

The table given below shows the overall pass percentage, boys’ and girls’ pass percentage and the total number of students appeared for last 5 years. The table shows that in a given year (except in 2017), there has been an increase in all the percentages over the previous year. As opposed to the national-wide trend, the boys have outperformed the girls throughout the period except in 2017. The total number of students appeared in the exam also increased from 2014 to 2015 and then, 2015 to 2016, but dipped by over 3 lakh in 2017, which is a cause of concern.

About the UP Board

Constituted in the year 1921 at Allahabad, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Board, i.e. UPMSP / UP Board of Secondary Education UPBSE oversees the education in the state. The Board also conducts class 10 and class 12 exams and declares the results, every year. The Board has been conducting exam since 1921. Being one of the largest boards in India, every year around 30 lakh students appear for 10th class exams, while more than 25 lakh students appear for the 12th class exam.
