  • The girls’ pass percentage increased by 5.17% in 2015 but declined by 1.38% in 2016 and it dipped further by 3.36% in 2017. The boys’ pass percentage on the other hand, has been increasing over the years, except in the year 2016 when it declined marginally by 0.11%.
  • Total no. of students appeared reduced by 88,000 in 2015, but it increased by 1,27,204 in 2016. However, in 2017 it once again declined by 44,697.

The Examination will be held in only one paper on each day from 10.00 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. (3 hours and 15 minutes time are allotted both for reading question paper and writing answer) except Health & Physical Education, Visual Arts, Music and Vocational Subjects.

About the West Bengal Board Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE)

Constituted in 1975, the main function of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education is to pave the way for promotion and development of the higher secondary education in the state of West Bengal. It also conducts the exams of Class 12th (Higher Secondary). The main function of the Board is to prescribe the syllabus and recommend the rules and design courses and textbooks. Besides, the Board regulates a total of 4,300 schools, which are affiliated with it. The Board issues the date sheet a couple of month before conducting the higher secondary exam.
